The second teachers’ workshop went ahead on 23 March and was attended by approximately 50 people. A lot of great ideas and teaching strategies were shared on these two PD days. We will be collating ideas and providing teachers with a summary of them shortly.

Margaret begins her secondment from Te Kura as full-time coordinator of the project on 28 April and she will be with us until the end of Term 4.

The third round of testing is underway now and will be completed by 3 July. Children’s literacy knowledge is being assessed after they have been at school for between 36 and 38 weeks. We are lucky to have Kath, Lyn, Denise and Jenny carrying out these assessments. Their wealth of experience has made it easy for children to cope with the demands of the assessment régime.
